If you’re a Zulily shopper, you’ve probably seen offers to sign up for the Zulily credit card. But is it the right card for you? This credit card has a 31.74% APR (ouch) and a few member benefits. As a cardholder you’ll get a one-time, first purchase $15 discount, plus access to exclusive Zulily deals and sales. However, these perks don’t quite add up to make our list of best store credit cards.
Overall, a Zulily credit card isn’t something you should run out and apply for. The fact that there are no cash-back or rewards benefits make this card a little less than desirable. But if you can pay off your balance each month, shop often at QVC and HSN (more on that below), or would benefit from the additional Smart Pay payment, it’s worth looking into.
After you apply for the Zulily credit card, you’ll be approved or unapproved quickly. Zulily recommends a credit score of 620 or higher to apply. If you’re approved, you can start shopping with it right away and you’ll get $15 off your first purchase as a cardholder. One caveat: the $15 off must be used within the first year of opening the card. But let’s be honest, you’ll probably have no trouble using the discount within 12 months.
Not a huge fan of this perk, TBH. Zulily typically allows members to use Smart Pay to split eligible purchases into two payments without interest. Zulily credit card holders can split these purchases into three smaller payments. However, similar to any other credit card, your Smart Pay purchase will be subject to interest charges.
These charges and additional fees are in accordance with the standard terms and conditions outlined in your credit card agreement. This results in a higher chance of spending extra (via interest) on a purchase and is not a very valuable benefit. To be frank, you’re better off doing the two larger Smart Pay payments with no interest. Don’t forget, there’s a 31.74% APR on this card.
Along with the $15 off, you’ll get exclusive member offers and sales. Zulily isn’t exactly clear what those offers are, but they did mention free shipping is a possibility. And with $5.99 shipping on all orders, this is a worthwhile perk if you’re an avid Zulily shopper. But again, they aren’t clear exactly what the exclusive offers are and free shipping might not be a frequent perk.
If you miss a monthly payment due date on your card, you’ll face a 31.74% interest fee, which is pretty dang steep. Yes, interest rates are high right now, but for comparison’s sake, it’s worth noting that the average credit card APR as of February 2023 was 20.92%. So the amount of interest you accrue using this card is likely going to be higher than if you’d used another card in your wallet. Just saying.
The good news is that this card has no annual fee. So you won’t be spending any additional money throughout the year just to keep the card in your wallet.
Possibly the best perk for this card, along with shopping at Zulily.com and their app, you can use it to shop at QVC and HSN. However, the Zulily card cannot be used at any other retailers.
Zulily cardholders will get the same perks shopping at QVC as their QCard holders.
As a cardholder, you’ll also get HSN VIP benefits as part of the QCard family.
